Preparation and Usage Starting Skills

Project Steps

  1. This design was etched in stages. The technique allows the use of a particular stencil image multiple times on the same project when you don't have enough to etch all simultaneously and it enables stencil images to be placed in closer proximity than the stencil borders would otherwise permit.
  2. After preparing the glass, place the card suit border around the top of the cylinder about 1 inch from the brim. Place the 3 card stencil centered under the border and in the middle of the cylinder. Place an ace suit stencil in the middle of the top card.
  3. Place the single card stencil on the outside of a martini glass and one of the suit shapes inside.
  4. Follow the etching cream instructions to etch the cards onto the glasses.
  5. Place the card suit border at the base of the cylinder, 1 inch up from the bottom and in line with the border above. Position the single card stencil on a blank martini glass and put a different suit shape in the middle.
  6. Use the etching cream as before to etch these onto the glasses.
  7. Repeat the process of adding and etching with cream to etch a card on all remaining martini glasses so each has a different suit. Add any additional design elements you desire.
