Project Steps

1. Measure the distance around the widest part of the wine glass and divide and cut into 10 equal squares on the material. Cut 3 equal strips out of the material the same length as the distance measured. Cut 5 squares with circles in the middle for a circle form. Cut 8 equal short strips to go vertically around the glass.
2. After preparing the glasses position the cut shapes onto the wine glasses to make the designs. Use the squares to create a checkerboard pattern around the middle of a glass. Draw a level line horizontally around the widest part of a wine glass. Place the squares along the line alternating above and bellow.Wrap the glass outside the design area securely with masking tape. Follow the etching cream instructions to etch the exposed areas on the glass.
3. Lay the long strips horizontally around a wine glass beginning at the top and working downwards. The space between the strips will be the etched stripes on the glass, so adjust the distance accordingly. Wrap the glass outside the design area securely with masking tape. Follow the etching cream instructions to etch the exposed areas on the glass.
4. Draw a level horizontal line around the widest part of the wine glass. Lay the short strips vertically, centered along the line. Begin with two directly opposite each other followed by two more in the middle between them. The space between the strips will be the etched stripes on the glass. Adjust and add the strips accordingly to create the desired width of the etched stripes. Wrap the glass outside the design area securely with masking tape. Follow the etching cream instructions to etch the exposed area on the glass.
5. Position the empty circle frames randomly on the wine glass. Wrap the glass outside the circle forms securely with masking tape. Follow the etching cream instructions to etch the circles onto the glass. Repeat the process of adding and etching circles onto the glass until the desired amount is achieved.
