Preparation and Usage Starting Skills

Project Steps

  1. This design was etched in stages. The technique allows you to use a particular stencil image, like these horseshoes, multiple times on the same project when you don't have enough to etch all simultaneously.
  2. After preparing the glass, Place the pinstripe tape down one side of the glass near the edge. On one or more, cut across the stripes and take out a section of the stripes large enough to fit a horseshoe.
  3. Cut a fence out of the blank sheet and place it next to the stripes on the glass as shown i the picture.
  4. Follow the etching cream instructions to etch the onto the glass.
  5. Turn the glass over so the stripes run down the left of the glass on the back.
  6. Place horseshoe stencils in the gaps on the stripes where there is one and anywhere on the stripes if there is not.
  7. Place a horse stencil next to the stripes.
  8. Follow the etching cream instructions to etch the onto the glass.
  9. Starting at the center of one side of the coaster, glue a piece of the twine all along the edge of the glass.
  10. Attach the flat silver embellishments over the spot where the twine ends meet.
